Hugh MacPherson awarded £250,000 for research into acupuncture for irritable bowel syndrome

An award of £250,000 has been made to York Clinic's Hugh MacPherson who also works at the University of York to conduct a trial of acupuncture for irritable bowel syndrome. This research involves a randomised controlled trial, which has been funded by the National Institute for Health Research under their Research for Patient Benefit scheme. We are supported by the Gut Trust, the patient support group for people with irritable bowel syndrome.
