Amanda Preston, Acupuncure in York
BA(Hons), LicAc, MBAcC
I obtained my degree in Five Element Acupuncture in 2004 from the College of Traditional Acupuncture, Leamington Spa. For me, Five Element Acupuncture is an ancient and beautiful system of medicine which takes the laws of nature into account when treating a person.
I have a core belief that treating a person holistically, as a
unique individual, reawakens the body's ability to heal itself. I
also believe that acupuncture and western medicine have a natural
synergy, and that acupuncture is as relevant and effective today as
it was in the time of the Yellow Emperor. Acupuncture is not a
quick fix, however. You really are 'what you eat' and how you live.
As part of your treatment, we will discuss your diet and lifestyle
to identify any negative factors which may be influencing your
health.
Since graduating, I have been a member of the British Acupuncture
Council and actively continue specialist postgraduate training and
have attended advanced workshops around male and female
infertility, pregnancy and pain.
