Alexander Technique in York
Mary is a fully qualified Alexander Technique Teacher and is a Member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique (MSTAT). She studied full time for three years at Cumbria Alexander Training School in Kendal.
She treats a range of problems including: back, neck and shoulder pain; postural misalignment; joint and muscle tension arising from working posture, or from playing musical instruments or sports; posture and movement in pregnancy; insomnia, exam nerves and stress.
Her special interest is in enabling Ease and Co-ordinated Balance in all Movement. She also teaches Natural Voice techniques.
Mary works at York Clinic on Mondays and Fridays. She also works at York Alexander Technique School for trainee Alexander Teachers, and at her private practice in Heslington.
For many years she taught Alexander Technique to music students at University of York and medical students at Hull York Medical School. She also taught clients who took part in the ATLAS Neck Pain trial.
