Psychotherapy and Counselling
Cheryl is an integrative relational counsellor. Cheryl’s varied experience of working in physical and mental health means she is able to adapt her approach to meet your needs. Cheryl hopes to help you better understand what you are experiencing and work with you to feel more at ease.
Cheryl describes herself as an integrative relational counsellor. A relational approach recognises that our past experiences and relationships may be influencing how we think and feel today. By working relationally, Cheryl values the relationship that she has with her clients that is based on respect, honesty and collaboration. Being an integrative counsellor means that Cheryl can work with a variety of psychological theories that includes person centred and humanistic approaches. An integrative approach also embraces Cheryl’s varied skill set.
Cheryl started her career as a nurse and specialised in public health which means that she helped people to better manage and improve their health across a range of areas. This means that Cheryl understands how difficult it can be to change our behaviour whether that is eating healthier, doing more exercise or making choices to look after our health better. Cheryl is also a qualified coach and is able to be solution focused or future focused if this best meets your needs. This may be helpful if you want to focus on your hopes and want support to take the first step.
Cheryl believes you are the expert in your life experience while she is the expert in being able to facilitate a space where you can talk freely. Cheryl will be guided by you and will adapt her approach according to your needs and hopes. Cheryl is able to work with a variety of issues that may include:
