Dr Hannah Goring
Hannah offers various types of psychological therapy: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). It is also possible to integrate different approaches depending on what you want to work on in therapy.
Hannah worked in NHS adult mental health services for 16 years after qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist in 2006. She now works in private practice and is also involved in training Clinical Psychologists.
She works with adults seeking help for any type of mental health difficulty or psychological distress, including the following:
Depression, low mood, feeling hopeless
Low self-esteem or lack of self-worth
Anxiety, including worry, panic attacks, phobias and social anxiety
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Trauma including physical, sexual or emotional abuse
Difficulty with relationships
Hannah recognises that life can be tough, and that reaching out to ask for help is not always easy. Whatever you are struggling with, she will offer a non-judgmental and compassionate approach, and endeavour to create a safe space for exploration of your difficulties. Hannah will initially work with you to develop a shared, in-depth understanding of your problems. She will tailor her approach to you, drawing on different psychological models and theories depending on your priorities for therapy.
