Herbal medicine and massage therapy
Michaela is a highly experienced therapist who offers Western herbal medicine and massage. Her holistic approach to good health and wellbeing focuses on identifying the root cause of discomfort or disease, rather than just treating the symptoms.
Michaela has been a medical herbalist and member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists (NIMH) for 12 years, having graduated from the University of Wales in 2008. Her four-year BSc degree course covered training in general medicine as well as herbal medicine, supplemented by additional clinical training at the Universities of East London, Middlesex and Westminster, and a Clinical Examination course at The British School of Osteopathy.
She is a qualified massage therapist with 20 years experience. She is a Neal’s Yard Remedies Consultant, and uses their organic blended aromatherapy oils in her treatments.
Doula and pregnancy massage
Michaela’s personal experience of becoming a mother, coupled with her herbal work offering fertility support, lead her to train to be a birth doula. She has also undertaken specialist training in pregnancy massage, so that she can offer a complete package of peri-natal support. Visit our fertility and pregnancy page to find out more.
Michaela takes a holistic approach to your treatment. She will ask you lots of questions and will also give you plenty of time to be listened to. She aims to understand the background and any patterns relating to your health issues. No two cases of any particular medical condition are the same since each person with that condition is different. It is essential to the success of herbal treatment that your unique constitution and circumstances are assessed and accounted for.
A medical herbalist draws on centuries of empirical evidence while also relying on modern research. Michaela is committed to a programme of continual professional development and regularly attends seminars and further training courses. She has a particular interest in gynaecological and fertility issues, pregnancy and postnatal care.

"I have been using the bespoke immune tonic Michaela prescribed for about 4 months now, alongside a salt lamp that Michaela suggested, and not only have I not been ill but, incredibly, I haven't needed my salbutamol inhaler for so many weeks I can't remember when I last used it. My asthma has NEVER been so good!"
"I saw Michaela for a massage late in my third pregnancy and it was a really lovely experience; exactly what I needed at that time. Michaela is very good at tuning in and knowing what her clients need, without a lot of verbal guidance and she's able to offer the most wonderful nurturing and healing with her hands. I would definitely recommend Michaela's support for pregnant women."
