Psychological therapy is recognised to be a highly effective means of dealing with emotional and personal disturbance and I am committed to offering a confidential, professional service, helping individuals to deal with their problems and gain the insight and skills needed to manage their lives from a different perspective. People come to therapy with a range of emotional and personal problems including:
• Stress and Anxiety related difficulties
• Obsessive-Compulsive Behaviours
• Personal Crisis, Bereavement or Loss
• Traumatic Experiences, Physical/Sexual Abuse
• Disturbances of Body Image
Working through emotional problems with a trained, compassionate therapist helps to identify repeating patterns of thoughts and behaviours, and relieve the stresses underlying life’s difficulties.
I am fully trained and experienced in the use of a range of therapeutic approaches including: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing, Cognitive-Behavioural, Brief Solution-Focused and Mindfulness intervention. My preference is to use the most appropriate intervention to suit both the person and the presenting problem.
I also prefer to work holistically, examining Psychological, Physical, Social, and Environmental factors impacting on a person’s overall functioning and well being.
Both Cognitive-Behavioural and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing are recommended treatments of choice in NHS National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidelines.
• Lost the closeness you once shared?
• Do old problems continuously get dragged up?
• Is it difficult to talk without arguing?
• Is life a constant battle where problems are rarely resolved?
• Feeling frustrated, confused and unhappy?
Frequently couples fail to seek help, and many years of resentment and discontent leave them with little hope of finding any solutions. If you are experiencing any of the above difficulties perhaps this would be a good time to seek help, either singly or as a couple. Ryedale Psychology can help you to bring about changes in your relationship allowing you to move forward in your lives.
I offer a range of adult psychological assessments in line with criteria detailed in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition, (DSM V, 2013). Ryedale Psychology Resource provides a range of highly professional, thorough, detailed reports, gauged upon the particular instructions of our clients. Examples of areas offered include:
