BACP Registered Counsellor
Lisa is a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She has experience of working with a wide range of difficulties gained through her counselling and goal focused coaching roles at a local mental health charity.
Lisa writes “You might be feeling a sense of overwhelm or anxiety. Or you might be struggling to process difficult emotions or make sense of something that has happened. Perhaps you are not living your life in the way that you’d like. At these times, we may feel confused or isolated.
My aim is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to explore whatever is troubling you. Counselling can help you to explore your difficulties by gaining understanding of your experience and considering different perspectives. This can enable you to find ways of coping and make different choices for yourself in order to live a more fulfilling life.”
Counselling is about working together to enable you to identify your own way forward. I believe the counselling relationship to be crucial in the work we do. I consider my role to be alongside you, supporting you with your chosen focus. I recognise that each client is unique, therefore I tailor my approach according to you as an individual and your specific situation. As a humanistic integrative counsellor, I draw on aspects of Person-centred, Existential and Gestalt approaches to support our work together.
