Suzanne has 26 years experience as a Counsellor, Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist and Life Coach, both in London and York.
Suzanne works with individuals and couples for all stress, anxiety and relationship problems, both for short term solution focused therapy and for longer term issues.
Suzanne has been in practice in York since 1988 after an initial career in the NHS as a Personnel Manager. She has also worked for the London Marriage Guidance Council.
Suzanne is registered with The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), has been awarded Fellowship of the National Register for Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy (NRHP), is registered with the European Council for Psychotherapy and holds the European Certificate of Clinical Hypnosis.
Suzanne’s focus of work is with all areas of stress, anxiety, relationships and employment problems.
What is Counselling?
Counselling is a process which helps an individual to look at a personal problem, to understand it and to reach some decisions about what to do about it. It is a different process to giving advice. One of the main aims of both counselling and psychotherapy is to help an individual develop their own coping skills and resources. Psychotherapy is a more in-depth therapeutic process that works with the unconscious, the exploration of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Both psychotherapy and counselling aim to increase a persons’ sense of health and well being.
What is Life Coaching?
Life Coaching offers a chance for an individual to work through those issues that are preventing them from feeling fulfilled and satisfied in life. It provides a secure, non-challenging environment through which to explore any hindrances which may be preventing a person from achieving their positive goals. Life Coaching is often described as “the gift which you give yourself”. It is about having the personal freedom to live your life to the full, with a clear perspective which allows you to focus on the challenges you have set yourself without negative and limiting beliefs.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a safe process which creates a deeply relaxed physical and mental state in which mental stress and bodily tensions are reduced. In this relaxed state, the mind is usually more open to the process of change, and positive and long lasting results may be achieved to enhance both mental, physical and emotional well being. Hypnotherapy can be an invaluable tool in helping people to stop smoking, control their weight problems, reduce insomnia and minimise phobias. Positive thinking, regaining self confidence and learning relaxation techniques and self hypnosis are all part of this life enhancing process.

Confidentiality: All sessions are confidential and Suzanne is bound by the strict codes of ethics laid down by her accrediting organisations. She works with individuals, couples and also with teenagers.
What is the Cost?
£65 per session and each session lasts up to an hour. £45 for concessions. Payment is by cash or cheque.

Suzanne is in the Clinic: Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 8.30am – 2pm
